Feeling out of balance this holiday season? Do the holidays bring you more anxiety than affable feels? Whenever I feel anxious, I assess my surroundings. If I am living amongst chaos or clutter, I take a deep breath and tackle the main need. What part of my house is the biggest offender? What feeling is evoked when I step into that space? If it’s not one of calm and cool, it’s time to make change!
Is it your closet? When was the last time you packed a garbage bag full of clothes, shoes, accessories to donate? If it’s been 6 months or more, it’s time to purge and pack. Clearing out your space is a cleansing experience, physically and mentally. Sometimes it’s tough to say goodbye to those boots or that amazing sweater, but stick to this rule of thumb: Have you worn it this season or even last? If the answer is no, say sayonara my friend. Crew V-neck could afford you new sandals! OR Is it your bathroom? How old are those little bottles of shampoo you got as a free gift? Is your toilet paper under the sink sticking to your uncapped toothpaste? Whatever it may be, our bathrooms can quickly accumulate stress and chaos.
